We had a nice break from the wind this week, and I took Ty and Lacey out for a morning trip. We got some blackfin tunas and bonitas going, and got some dinner. Ty pulled on some big amberjacks, but the sharks won. We went to the reef and scored a few big yellowtail snappers, but it was tough with not much current and plenty of sharks.
I took Jon out for an afternoon shark trip this week, with perfect conditions. We had a full outgoing tide and plenty of chum. We hooked one big shark early in the trip and pulled the hook. Next we waited and waited until I was ready to move. I had pulled in the chum and fish carcasses and was moving to the bow when I saw a big shark behind the boat. It took a little while, but eventually we had a huge hammerhead right behind the boat. She wasn't interested in eating, but it was cool to see. We finally hooked a big nurse shark that Jon got to the boat after about 20 minutes. We did catch some nice yellowtail snappers and a few groupers while we were waiting also. If you're looking to get out this week, I have some days available. Thanks, Capt. Taylor
